Fujitsu TechCommunity Europe Channel Partner Technical event – Prague, May 2019

From 21st to 23rd May, the beautiful city of Prague and its prestigious Corinthia Hotel were the hosts of the 2019 TechCommunity event.

As the TechCommunity manager, this was the first time I had had the pleasure of attending such a big and important event. It was a great opportunity to get to know the team, to delve deeply into the market trends and, of course, to get to know some of our valuable partners. The feedback received during this kind of event is crucial for being able to improve not only the next event, but also the relationship and mutual support between Fujitsu and its partners.

Two technical keynotes, four panel discussions, 70+ technical workshop sessions, ~90 hours of knowledge transfer, 250+ people and 30+ speakers, all committed to bringing together the latest market news and sharing new success strategies.

The event started on the 21st with the heralded new concept of panel discussions. The panels, which were designed to allow for debate, discussion and sharing of ideas, were moderated by a Fujitsu executive and industry experts from companies such as Broadcom, Commvault, Extreme Networks, Intel, NetApp, Nutanix, Veritas and VMware. The discussion focused on key technology topics about how Network, Hybrid, Data and Artificial Intelligence are bringing new opportunities to channel partners.

In Fujitsu's technical keynote, Glenn Fitzgerald, CTO Product Business EMEA, presented in-depth topics such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Quantum Computing.

The second keynote, provided by Intel and hosted by Stephan Gillich, Director of Artificial Intelligence EMEA, focussed on the topic "From data to insight – with AI". The presentation addressed the questions "Can you use AI methods to improve the simulation and modelling applications?" and "Can you run AI applications on HPC Systems?", in addition providing an overview of the respective technology for Artificial Intelligence.

On the ensuing days, all participants were able to attend the sessions on the topics which best suited their needs, using their own automatically-created personalized agendas.

The TechCommunity events are all about two-way knowledge transfer, so it's Fujitsu's objective not only to provide knowledge and information to our much valued partners, but also to listen to their concerns and client needs.

We truly hope you all had a great time in Prague, and that you found these few days as useful as we did. Please don't forget to answer our questionnaire, and drop us any comments or suggestions, as these will be given our utmost attention.

See you at the next one!
