TechCommunity WebTalk: “Get More from Your Computing Platforms with FUJITSU Server PRIMERGY M5 and PRIMEQUEST 3000 Series 2nd Generation”

Some four years ago, experts from Intel and Micron announced they were working on a new, non-volatile memory technology that was initially dubbed 3DXPoint that used new material compounds and stackable, cross-gridded data access arrays, with bit storage occurring through changes in resistance of the bulk materials. All this technology had a straightforward purpose – enabling significant speed boosts without breaking the bank.

Intel later swapped the rather abstract 3DXPoint moniker and rebranded the technology as Optane™ – a name that sounds a lot like "octane," the secret sauce that's used to kick Formula 1 racing cars into gear. First popularized via client-computing devices, non-volatile memory modules are now getting ready to tackle more demanding tasks in the data center, which is why this spring, Fujitsu will refresh its entire portfolio of x86 dual-, quad- and octo-socket servers in an effort to exploit the new capabilities of Intel® Optane™ DC. The goal is to not only speed up applications, but to enable them to derive insights from data much faster, even when dealing with massive amounts of information. The upcoming webcast offers an opportunity to learn more about the latest members of our dual+ socket server family that include a host of fresh tower, rack and multi-node systems. Your host Nitin Sitaram, Specialist Marketing Manager, Product Data Center Server, has the following agenda prepared for you:

  • Intro
  • Technology Overview
  • Systems Overview
  • Use Cases
  • Q & A
