Fujitsu Introduces New Backup Solution for HCI

Converged and hyper-converged infrastructures (HCI) enable fast implementations of virtual IT infrastructures. However, they might create new complexity with regard to backup and recovery. Fujitsu's new ETERNUS CS200c S3 is a pre-configured, highly customizable out-of-the-box solution that turns data protection in such environments into a breeze.

The FUJITSU Storage ETERNUS CS200c S3 offers a completely fresh approach to data protection tailored to fit the needs of modern data centers with their mix of traditional, converged and hyper-converged infrastructures (HCI). Based on a combination of PRIMERGY rack servers, scalable storage and the latest data protection software from our long-term partner Commvault, the package provides a fully integrated solution for backup and archiving data in physical, virtual or cloud-based data centers. Integrated deduplication, ease of use, along with scalable capacity and functionality guarantee that the appliance delivers the highest levels of efficiency and investment protection, even as requirements continue to grow. As a result, customers can reduce both the cost and the risk of moving to HCI by eliminating the need for multiple point solutions that require complex integration.

Customers will also benefit from short implementation times: the ETERNUS CS200c S3 is ready to run right out of the box and will fit into any data center after only a few on-site adjustments. Depending on the individual environment, the setup may take less than two hours, from power up to backup. What's more, a central and unified management console radically simplifies administration. Finally, Fujitsu offers support and maintenance for the solution along its complete lifecycle and operates as a Single Point of Contact (SPOC). Thanks to all these characteristics, the ETERNUS CS200c S3 will help IT departments to enhance their productivity – and customers to realize substantial cost savings in procurement, rollout and operation.

More information about the new appliance will be available in a TechCommunity blog next week. If you're interested in even more background info and a hands-on demo, please join our webcast on July 29, 2016 at 10:00 AM CEST.
