New rack servers modernize your data center by delivering performance, usability, and expandability for multi-workload environments

The FUJITSU Server PRIMERGY RX Rack Systems lineup has two new dual-socket models. Equipped with the latest 3rd Generation Intel® Xeon® Scalable Processors, the RX2530 M6 and the RX2540 M6 are versatile, rack-optimized servers providing best-in-class performance, usability as well as easy expandability with several new features and thus represent the “standard” in each data center. PRIMERGY RX2530 M6 – Maximum productivity in a 1U housing


To help our customers move, store, and process massive amounts of data, the PRIMERGY RX2530 M6 ideally combines performance, cost, and scalability for most data centers powered by 3rd Generation Intel® Xeon® Scalable Processors – along with an incredibly large amount of memory capacity in only 1U. It is powered by the 3rd Generation Intel® Xeon® Scalable Processors that enhances the per core performance significantly by providing up to 40 cores per socket.

As with our PRIMERGY servers, the 3rd Generation Intel Xeon processors benefit from decades of innovations for most common workload requirements. With the numerous available variants of different core count, frequencies, and number of PCIe lanes, they are optimized for many different workload types and performance levels.

The same also applies to the RX2530 M6 system itself. Fujitsu is offering several different base units of the server, e.g. up to 4x 3.5” SAS/SATA, up to 10x 2.5” SAS/SATA/NVMe, or the option to use up to 32x EDSFF storage devices, so that our customers can choose the right base units for their individual needs. In case this capacity is not entirely sufficient, two further 2.5” storage devices are available as an option at the rear of the chassis.

Apart from that, the server provides a large amount of memory capacity provided by 32 DIMM slots (in total 10 TB), delivering excellent results for even the most demanding applications. Beside the DDR4 modules with memory speeds of up to 3,200 MT/s, it is also possible to combine them with the Intel® Optane™ persistent memory 200 series that delivers a unique combination of affordable large capacity and support for data persistence.

The PRIMERGY RX2530 M6 supports the new PCIe 4.0 interface, with a total of four of these interfaces available. In addition, to address substantial throughput improvements the new dual-socket server supports PCIe Gen 4 (up to 4), as well as new flexible DynamicLoM adapters via OCP V3. This makes the PRIMERGY RX2530 M6 an ideal server for data center standardization on a wide range of workloads including virtualization, scale-out scenarios, database and analytics, VDI and even HPC environments that require performance and GPU support in a dense 1U form factor.

PRIMERGY RX2540 M6 – The data center standard without compromise


The second new rack server in our portfolio is the PRIMERGY RX2540 M6. It is a dual-socket x86 system that delivers ultimate versatility and scalability for multi-workload environments in a compact 2U chassis. It represents the standard in every modern data center and enables the running of nearly every workload from the most basic to business-critical applications.

Like its “smaller brother,” the RX2540 M6 supports Intel® Optane™ DC persistent memory 200 series as well as up to two 3rd generation Intel® Xeon® Scalable processors with multi-socket core count density of up to 40 cores per processor. Shortly after Intel’s launch of the new processor generation on April 6, 2021, Fujitsu was the very first to publish a SAP benchmark on the new platform. The two-tier SAP Sales and Distribution (SD) Standard Application Benchmark was certified by SAP on April 12, 2021, with 42,750 SD benchmark users for PRIMERGY RX2540 M6, equipped with 2 Intel Xeon Platinum 8380 processors (80 cores / 160 threads) running SAP enhancement package 5 for SAP ERP 6.0 on SQL Server 2012 and Windows Server 2016. This is an improvement by 1.4x compared to the previous generation, where 30,500 SD benchmark users were certified on PRIMERGY RX2540 M5.

The server makes it possible to scale capacity and performance with 32 DIMM slots (up to 12 TB of memory in combination with PMem) as well as up to 12x 3.5” SAS/SATA, 24x 2.5” SAS/SATA/NVMe, or 64x EDSFF storage drives.

The server’s 8x PCIe 4.0 slots, DynamicLoM OCP v3 slot as well as support for up to 6 GPUs – such as the NVIDIA Tesla T4 card – provide added expandability, networking scalability, and speed necessary to ensure that I/O-intensive workloads avoid bottlenecks that reduce full enterprise efficiency.

In addition, six further 2.5” storage drives are available as an option on the rear of the chassis.

The PRIMERGY RX2540 M6 is the ideal server for business-critical workloads such as traditional and in-memory databases, virtualization, business processing, virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI), enterprise applications, collaboration/email, streaming media, web, and HPC, where the right performance, expandability, and efficiency are essential.
