eco Internet Security Days 2017

Back in 2011, Germany's eco - the largest Internet industry association in Europe with over 1,000 member organizations – hosted its first Internet Security Days (ISD), a conference-exhibition mix designed to help companies protect their webpages and customer-facing IT processes. Meanwhile, the ISD are a well-established event that attracts participants from all over the continent.

The 2017 edition covers four key topics – "Advanced Cybercrime," "Connected World," "Security by Design," and "The Human Factor" – and will discuss recent developments in areas like DDoS attacks and Social Engineering, introduce new legal and industry standards, explain concepts for data protection in autonomous cars, present the reference implementation of a secure, Linux-based IoT data collector for Industry 4.0 scenarios, etc. As per usual, the two days will include keynotes, a security fair and a number of focused sessions; moreover, this year's event adds two workshops on security audits according to IEC 62443 and the protection of so-called critical infrastructures. There's even a session devoted entirely to entertainment: In the aptly titled "War Stories" segment, security researchers will relate stories about their most exciting malware hunts.

The Internet Security Days 2017 are scheduled for September 28 and 29, at Brühl near Cologne. The general conference language is German; single lectures will be held in English.
