After Failed Liftoff: Microsoft Releases New RTM Candidate for Win10 V1803

Following a week of silence, Redmond is finally offering a fresh version of Redstone 4 aka the Spring Creators Update (Preview Build 17134) to Windows Insiders in the Fast ring, along with an explanation why the previous edition was axed.

As it stands, the predecessor turned out to be somewhat shaky while it was being tested, resulting in crashing Windows installations that frequently confronted users with the dreaded "Blue Screen of Death" (BSOD) or stop error, a phenomenon many hadn't seen since the days of XP. So instead of harassing users with flawed update packages, the developers opted for a restart and issued a completely new build that includes a full set of fixes intended to resolve the reliability problems. Hence Windows Insiders weren't served with a Cumulative Update, and the entire release process for Redstone 4 was slowed down. Dona Sarkar, the 'new face' of the Windows Insider Program, and Microsoft's longtime Senior Program Manager Brandon LeBlanc offered this explanation on the Windows Blog. Unfortunately, the two did not provide updated information regarding the general availability of Windows 10 version 1803. However, Wccftech, Windowscentral.com and Thurrott.com unanimously suggest that if all goes well, Microsoft could start to roll out the refresh in the last week of April.
