Fujitsu simplifies the planning, implementation and execution of data backups for mid-sized businesses and those with branch offices and distributed operations: the FUJITSU Storage ETERNUS CS200c Integrated Backup Appliance provides "backup and archiving in a box." With the new system, channel partners can take advantage of the substantial growth rates for backup solutions in the mid-market.

Finding an adequate backup and archiving solutions for mid-sized and distributed environments often requires lots of time and effort. Fujitsu's ETERNUS CS200c Integrated Backup Appliance offers a modern, affordable solution to these problems. Based on decades of experience in developing storage systems, the new "all-in-one" package includes numerous features that previously could only be found in large-scale configurations. Combining certified Fujitsu hardware with CommVault's market-leading Simpana backup software, the easy-to-deploy package allows for a quick startup, swiftly integrates into existing IT environments, and virtually eliminates the need to implement and manage multiple backup and archiving applications. Moreover, it provides enough scalability for customers to control today's inevitable exponential data growth.

The FUJITSU Storage ETERNUS CS200c is available in various scalable configurations, ranging from 2 TB storage capacity in the smallest entry-level setup to a maximum of 96 TB in the Scale models. All systems are equipped with six Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) and two 10 GbE ports; and all variants but the smallest also provide Fibre Channel and SAS connectivity. Standard software functionalities for each appliance include file-based backup and recovery, archiving of both physical workloads and VMs, deduplication to disk, primary and secondary encryption, and self-service recovery – all supporting (theoretically) unlimited numbers of file and NAS clients as well as VMs. What's more, users may add enterprise functions – such as snapshots, replication, tape attachment, or special application support – as they see fit.

The ETERNUS CS200c addresses future growth and investment protection and always comes fully licensed to ensure that capacity can be expanded quickly and cost-effectively during the appliance's life span – thus helping to avoid worries about which or how many licenses to purchase. A range of maintenance support options will be available for 1, 3 or 5 years, while professional services support deployment and assessment on behalf of customers. Fujitsu provides added peace-of-mind by acting as a single point of contact for server, storage, software and services.

The FUJITSU Storage ETERNUS CS200c Integrated Backup Appliance is available for order immediately in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and India. Pricing varies by configuration and country. Shipments are expected to start in November, depending on the availability of mandatory maintenance and professional services in the participating countries.
